Now Hiring Full-Time

About the Role

This is a founding clinical position at Westlake Psychiatry. You will carry an individual therapy caseload, participate in group programming, and work in close collaboration with our psychiatrist — with regular clinical supervision built into your week, not bolted on as an afterthought.

Westlake serves a mixed international and Vietnamese clientele: expat families navigating displacement and transition, local families approaching Western mental health care for the first time, and international school communities with complex presentations. The work is varied, the cases are real, and the setting is genuinely unlike anything else operating in Hanoi.

Vietnam's clinical psychology and psychotherapy field is at an early stage. Licensure frameworks are coming. We are building the kind of practice that will matter when they arrive — and we want clinicians who think about their professional development with that horizon in mind.

What You Will Do

  • Carry an individual psychotherapy caseload across adult and adolescent populations
  • Co-facilitate therapeutic groups — a core and growing part of our clinical programme
  • Collaborate closely with our psychiatrist on shared cases, medication support patients, and complex presentations
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision with our US-trained, UCSF-affiliated psychiatrist
  • Contribute to intake assessment and clinical triage alongside the broader team
  • Engage with child and family cases where your training supports it — with active support for expanding in that direction
  • Help shape clinical protocols, documentation standards, and group programming as the clinic grows

Who We Are Looking For

  • Masters-level training in psychotherapy, clinical psychology, or counselling psychology from an accredited programme — Vietnamese nationals with degrees from the UK, Australia, US, or comparable programmes strongly encouraged
  • Grounded in at least one evidence-based modality — CBT, DBT, trauma-informed approaches, family systems, or relational/psychodynamic work — with openness to others
  • DBT familiarity or training is particularly valued; if you have it, say so
  • Analytically minded, curious about what's underneath, not satisfied with surface-level formulations
  • Vietnamese and English fluency required — cultural and linguistic fluency is essential to how we work
  • Openness to working across the lifespan — child, adolescent, and family cases are part of our practice
  • Professional maturity and the discretion that serious clinical work demands

What We Offer

  • Regular, substantive clinical supervision from a US-trained, UCSF-affiliated psychiatrist — clinician development is central to what we are building
  • Active support for expanding your clinical range — new populations, modalities, and group formats
  • A genuinely collaborative environment — small team, real consultation, no isolation
  • Group therapy programming that creates both clinical depth and practice sustainability
  • A clinic that runs on good systems — administrative friction minimised so you can focus on the work
  • A calm, beautifully designed working environment in Ciputra, near UNIS Hanoi
  • Competitive compensation, negotiated based on experience and qualifications

A Note on Credentials

Vietnam does not yet have a unified psychotherapy licensure framework. We take credentials seriously regardless — and we are building toward full compliance as that framework develops. We are looking for practitioners whose training would meet registration standards in the country where they trained, and who can document supervised clinical hours. If you are unsure whether your background fits, write to us anyway and we will tell you honestly.

How to Apply

Send a CV and a cover letter — in English — describing your clinical training, your theoretical orientation, and what draws you to this kind of practice in this kind of setting. We are a small team making careful hires. We will read what you write.

This is a founding hire. We hope to welcome our first clinician ahead of our Summer 2026 opening. Interviews conducted on a rolling basis.
