The practice
The Westlake Institute is founded by Dr. Stephen Allison — a UCSF-trained American psychiatrist with over a decade of clinical leadership, including directing an inpatient psychiatric service in Marin County, California. The Institute opens in Ciputra, Hà Nội, in summer 2026.
Now based in Hanoi, Dr. Allison brings that depth of experience to a city where specialist psychiatric care can be hard to find. The practice opens quietly — small by design, careful about growth — offering evaluation, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and coordinated care for adults, children, and families.
The Institute collaborates with international schools, local hospitals, and specialist partners across Hà Nội, and maintains space for groups, visiting practitioners, and community gatherings.
The space
The Institute is designed with more than individual appointments in mind. Our Ciputra space includes a large multipurpose room available for therapeutic groups, family sessions, clinician gatherings, and community events.
We are interested in building something here — a home for practitioners as well as patients, a place where different disciplines meet, and a community that reflects the complexity of the lives we serve. If that interests you, we'd like to hear from you.
